The SIM card (Subscriber identity module) is at is third Generation of evolution. The latest being the Nano SIM card which fits into the much awaited iPhone 5. The evolution is based on miniaturization of devices and to reduce the much unwanted use of plastic around the SIM Card.
Outlook:
Apart from the dimensions , there is no functional difference between any of these SIM Cards.
